Nezita Elna (Smith) Campbell, a long-time resident of West Seattle, passed away on January 4, 2020 in Renton, WA at age 96. Nezita (Zee) was a beloved mother, grandmother, cousin and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred T. Campbell (Woody), parents Charles and Irene Smith, and son Clifford E. Campbell. She is survived by her son William R. Campbell of Renton, daughter Pamela R. Rich of Madison, WI, and 3 grandchildren.
Nezita married her husband Woody on March 28, 1942 in Seattle, WA and had three children. After WWII, Nezita took various positions at Woolworths and Sears while also raising her family. During her later years, she enjoyed visiting family and routinely traveled to Hawaii with her husband. She loved cooking for family and friends, watching for hummingbirds, crossword puzzles, and enjoying nature.
She was a member of the Renton Bible Church and will be missed by family and many friends. A memorial gathering will take place Friday, March 13, 2020 at 2 pm, Renton Bible Church, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Nezita’s name to Medic One Foundation.
