Bruce Fellows Hone was born in Seattle, Washington on March 6, 1947, to Dorothy and JD Hone. He grew up in the Seattle area before briefly attending Central Washington University and then enlisting in the Air Force. After the Air Force, Bruce made his way to Davenport, Iowa where he attended Palmer Chiropractic College. He graduated with honors in 1973 and returned to the Seattle area to start practicing chiropractic. Chiropractic quickly became his calling and passion in life. Bruce truly enjoyed helping people through his work; he believed in what he did and saw countless positive results that fed his passion.
Bruce always kept his chiropractic office in West Seattle but moved his family to Tiger Mountain just south of Issaquah in 1980. There he and his wife Sally raised their 3 boys, Ryan, C.J. and Jason. He was active with the boys, whether helping with the Sunday paper route, teaching work habits or helping with scouts. There were many trips sailing in the San Juans, three wheeling at the cabin or flying to some destination. Bruce was a patient and thoughtful man. He was not always the most talkative but those who knew him learned that when he did speak, he was worth listening to. The seasons of life changed from raising kids to watching those kids mature and become adults making their own way.
After buying a second home in Ellensburg, Bruce continued to pursue another lifelong passion with the purchase of a Cessna 180 airplane. He enjoyed the flying weather in Ellensburg and spent more than a decade flying all over the northwest with friends and family creating many great memories. Bruce enjoyed time with his family whether it was a birthday party, trips to the ocean or a gathering in the mountains. He was a wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend who was appreciated and loved. Bruce always continued to be dedicated to chiropractic and his patients. He never wanted to retire but after the effects of his struggle with Alzheimer’s became too much, he finally made the decision to close his practice after nearly 50 years of caring for patients. The last several years, Bruce was able to spend time with family close by his side. Bruce passed on August 22, 2025, at the age of 78.
Although he is gone now from this world, he will not soon be forgotten. Bruce added so much to so many lives that he truly does live on in this world through the positive influence he had as well as the many lessons he taught us.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Dick and sister Laurie. He is survived by his sister Penny [Jim]; his sons Ryan [Tammy], C.J. [Jennifer] and Jason [Jamie]; Sally, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, his grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, extended family as well as so many close friends.
