High winds gusting near 40 mph took out the power for nearly 5000 West Seattle City Light customers on Friday Dec. 5.
The outage extended from Alki Point down to near Fauntleroy Way SW on the south. It put out the lights along Beach Drive SW up to 49th SW on the east, until Juneau Street SW where it extended over to 32nd Ave SW.
High winds also took down a tree in the West Seattle Junction, in front of the former Starbucks location.
Restoration was not expected until around midnight.
