As the season of gratitude arrives, the West Seattle Food Bank is taking a moment to express heartfelt appreciation to the supporters, partners, and volunteers who make vital community care possible every single day. Every day, local neighbors turn to the food bank for nutritious food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance to help them remain safely housed. Through the ongoing generosity of the community, compassionate help is always available when times become difficult.
The past year highlighted what can be accomplished when a community joins together to support neighbors facing growing challenges. Here is a snapshot of what community partnership made possible in fiscal year 2026:
- Distributed 2.7 million pounds of food, a 21% increase over the last year
- Supplied food to households 123,012 times
- Delivered groceries 19,535 times through Home Delivery, reaching more than 400 households most weeks
- Provided food 11,583 times to households through the Mobile Food Bank at 8 sites
- Partnered with 18 schools to distribute 17,544 weekend food packages
- Provided $945,172 in emergency rent and utility assistance to 631 households
- Distributed 126,605 items through The Clothesline to 17,940 neighbors, including 6,288 children
