Born August 12, 1936, passed away peacefully March 1, 2008. Mike was born and raised in Seattle. Professionally, he worked in accounting and as office manager of various companies. He is survived by his sister Jean Fagerholm (Mercer Island), brother Pat Linnane, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him. He was a master story and joke teller who will be missed by those who knew him. A memorial will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 15236 21st Ave SW in Burien at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Reception to follow.

Dr. Vernon D. Clausing, an admired and devoted Burien physician, passed away on February 24, 2008, he was 85 years old.Born in Norman, Oklahoma on September 16, 1922, Vernon Clausing attended Oklahoma University, A&M College, and graduated in 1945 from the Des Moines College of Osteopathy & Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Upon graduation Dr. Clausing came to Seattle where he completed his internship at Madison Street Hospital. In 1950 he established the Community Family Practice Clinic in Burien where he practiced for 45 years. Dr.

Dorothy Ruth (Eggers) Wells, 85, formerly of Santa Rosa, Calif., died peacefully Feb. 22, 2008 in Seattle. She was born Nov. 6, 1922 in Haddam, Kan. to William and Delia Serafin Eggers. She graduated from Springfield Baptist Hospital's Diploma Nursing Program in Springfield, Mo. on Nov. 2, 1946. Dorothy worked as a registered nurse for the next 45 years.

Dorothy married Dorsey Wells in 1951 and moved to Santa Rosa, Calif. in 1955 where they settled to raise four daughters together until his sudden death in Nov. 1973.

Sheila Marie Cox, passed away on Feb. 26, 2008 after a long fight with cancer. Although she never married, her family was large and included many persons whom she deeply touched. Her adult years were filled with a joyful approach to life. Always ready to share her life experiences and insights with those who asked. She was a good listener and a compassionate advocate for the underdog.

A resident of Ballard for more than 65 years, Sheila attended St. Alphonsus Grade School and Holy Angels High School, graduating from there in 1959.

Mrs. Durkan is a former executive editor of the Ballard News-Tribune passed away on Feb. 23 from cancer.

Durkan was born on Sept. 8, 1924 and graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1942. She attended the University of Washington in 1947, majoring in English. At the university, she was the president of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
