Transfer delayed for Lora Lake

The Port of Seattle and the King County Housing Authority agreed last week to delay the transfer of the Lora Lake Apartments pending the outcome of environmental testing at the affordable housing complex.

The sale of the property from the port to housing authority, which is located inside the city limits less than a thousand feet from the third runway at Sea-Tac International Airport, had been set to close Feb.

Agnes Viola Scott

In loving memory of Aggie Scott who passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the age of 95.

Aggie was born on August 18, 1912, in Valley, Washington, the third of four children born to James and Mary Elizabeth Ryan.

When Aggie was a small child, car were just beginning to replace buggies and homes were still lit with kerosene lanterns.

As a teenager, Aggie caught the eye of Albert E. Scott, whose family had a store and meat market in Valley.

George Alishokis

George was born on July 18, 1917, to George and Mary Alishokis in Worcester, Mass., and passed away from complications due to Mesothelioma on February 23, 2008, in Burien surrounded by his family.

George is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Fern Alishokis, son Wayne G.
