This weekend, we'll begin pouring structural concrete on the bridge. We completed the final core drills through the bridge’s pier structures this week, which is a major milestone to be ready for future post-tensioning. Two Highline students earn $40K Amazon Future Engineer Scholarships

information from Highline Public Schools

It was a surprise within a surprise! The $40,000 STEM scholarships arrived in Amazon delivery boxes to not one, but two seniors in Highline Public Schools this week. The two students are just two out of six Amazon Future Engineer scholarship and internship winners in Washington state this spring.

On Tuesday, Tyee High School student Sam Deressa checked the Amazon scholarship website and figured he didn’t make the cut. “It was just a long shot,” he said about applying. Plus, a standard Amazon box had arrived that day for his friend Daniel Tadesse, a Mount Rainier High School student, while Sam was at Daniel’s home. Both seniors attend Highline College through the Running Start program and are childhood friends.

"I am D.B. Cooper" film stars West Seattle filmmaker and actor Ryan Cory

Official SIFF Selection can be seen in person or online

When a tall man in a black suit hijacked a Northwest Orient Airlines 727 in 1971 to get a suitcase full of cash, he leapt into history as he exited the rear of the plane at 10,000 feet.

The subject of books, and seemingly endless speculation the man at the center of the case D.B. Cooper, is the title for a new film, I am D.B. Cooper debuting at the Seattle International Film Festival both in person and online.
