After years of preparation, Burger Boss is officially opening its second location on Ambaum Blvd, just past 128th SW, with a major grand opening celebration scheduled for Saturday, June 27.
The celebration, which runs until 5:00 p.m., will feature a festive atmosphere with music, speakers, and balloons. Owner Eikam Singh, who purchased the original Delridge location in 2021, is marking the occasion with extensive giveaways including free fries, deep-fried Oreos, and a "spin the wheel" challenge for customers. Additionally, Quantum Fiber Internet (a division of AT&T) will be on-site at 11:00 a.m. to give away 500 free burger gift cards. Singh also plans to distribute gift cards and teddy bears to approximately the first 50 guests.
A Challenging Road to Opening
The journey to the Burien opening was longer than expected, taking two years to complete rather than the initially planned eight months. The site, a former Baskin-Robbins and ice cream shop, required significant retrofitting to transition into a burger restaurant. Singh noted that the process was delayed by plumbing issues, roof repairs, and a four-month permit process for the installation of a kitchen hood.
What to Expect
The new location will be staffed by a large crew of approximately 10 people inside and five outside to handle the expected opening-day crowds. While the original Delridge Way SW location is known for its 24-hour service, the Burien store will initially operate from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. Singh hopes to extend these hours to 4:00 a.m. within three months as staff training is completed, with a long-term goal of potentially moving to 24-hour service in over a year.
The menu remains as extensive as the original, featuring approximately 15 different burgers, including:
- Beef, turkey, and fish burgers.
- Grilled chicken and hot link options.
- Vegetarian choices such as the Beyond Burger and a long-standing black bean burger.
- An array of milkshakes.
One notable difference for fans of the Delridge location is the beverage selection; while the original serves Seattle Soda, the new Burien location will serve Coca-Cola products. The restaurant also shares a parking lot with a neighboring Mexican restaurant, providing approximately 14 parking spaces for customers.
