Obesity? Stupidity?
Cause celebres at School Board, yes, but now also themes of the mayor's and City Council's latest tax pitch.
The Mayor's Transportation Ministry has embarked upon "road diets" such as converting Stone Way and Rainer Avenue from four lanes to two lanes. Similar "diet" plans are in the works to squander our hard-won wages on deconstructing precious roadway capacity.
If such a use of SeaTrans dollars will be considered a "diet," then couldn't the Mayor's fantasy demolition of a repairable Viaduct be considered induced "constipation" for Seattle? One medical reference writes "constipation results when food waste moves too slowly through the colon. When this condition occurs, the waste tends to ferment or putrefy." Hey! That's the diagnosis of your commute after he tears down the viaduct!
Don't worry Seattle; soon thereafter he'll have your guts wide open for "gastric bypass" surgery.
So, how do voters defend against the transportation malpractice of these quacks? I'm carbo-loading my ballot with a big fat "NO" vote on Prop. 1!
