Despondent and desperate

A man decided to fulfill his death wish by lying in the middle of Avalon Way, hoping that a car would hit him. He told officers he was off his meds and repeatedly said, "Why can't I just die?" He was taken to Harborview for a mental evaluation.
A local man who is caretaker for his elderly mother wanted to report her as a missing person. An officer investigated and discovered that the mom had been transported to Swedish Hospital and later released to the care of court-appointed guardian. The officer explained to the man that the condition of the apartment (which he deemed "atrocious" in his report) might have had something to do with her having been taken away.
The driver of a black SUV tailgated and drove erratically down 36th SW last week. When the car in front pulled over to let him pass, the wild driver (aggressive and seemingly intoxicated) got out of his car and punched a passenger from the other vehicle in the face. The suspect is an Asian male in his 50s, with a large build, short black hair, and a tan UW jacket.
While driving downhill on Admiral Way, a man pulled over to try and find the kids in the gully who had shattered his passenger-side window. Officers found two brothers who live nearby but who denied targeting the car. An airsoft pistol and a bb gun were turned over to the suspects' mom.
The 911 center received multiple calls about shots fired near the 5900 block of 17th and 18th Ave. SW early Monday, Feb. 25th. Five shell casings were later found in the 5900 block of 18th SW.
Stopped because of an improperly displayed license plate, a driver reached into the glove box for his registration. There in plain sight was a marijuana pipe. When officers told the car's occupants to exit the vehicle, one passenger said, "I have a gun." Indeed, the 22-year-old had a loaded .25-caliber pistol in his pants pocket. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of possession of a dangerous weapon.
A Delridge resident called 911 to report that her ex-boyfriend was at her home in violation of a no-contact order. Officers booked the man into King County Jail for the current violation and for four outstanding domestic violence and assault warrants. One warrant was a no-bail violation and the other three bail amounts totaled $40,000.
On 34th SW, a man was seen wandering up and down the street yelling and gesturing angrily. At one point, he noted a nearby house and yelled, "I'm manic depressive and somebody needs to burn down that house!" The man was gone when officers arrived, but, interestingly, firefighters arrived at the scene because of a report of a possible fire. There was smoke in the residence, but it was caused by burned food. The officer's report states that the home was in complete disarray, with broken furniture, clothing, tools, and garbage piled everywhere.
