Like the rotting interior of a fallen cedar tree America is eroding from the inside out. The national boycott held on May 1 to support granting legal status to illegal immigrants constitutes an assault upon our national character.
The American flag is held upside down below the Mexican flag; a Spanish version of the national anthem is written and the term “illegal” immigrant is considered racist.
This disgraceful amnesty movement should not surprise anyone. In our permissive, multi-cultural, tolerant society we have already compromised our national borders, language and culture for votes and cheap labor. Our globalist mindset considers the USA no different than any other nation or culture.
However, I believe this country is different and unique in all of human history. America is an ongoing experiment in the delicate balance between the anarchy of unfettered freedom and the heavy hand of a despotic state. A constitutional representative republic has no purpose if its citizenry lacks moral restraint and disregards the law.
The cornerstone of this special identity is American citizenship. To cheapen our citizenship will leave future generations oblivious to America’s role in the world.
If we no longer know who we are and cannot separate legal from illegal, then we have reached an irreversible “tipping point” in the decline of this great nation.
