Raymond O. Porter, 23, of Burien, killed himself-apparently accidentally-as he fell wounded in a gun battle with King County Sheriff's deputies early the morning of Dec. 2.
Porter, a reputed gang member, had just mortally wounded Deputy Steve Cox, shooting him twice in the head.
The officer inside a White Center home was interviewing him at the time.
One of the shots that killed Deputy Cox reportedly was made execution style.
Porter's death ended a violent night in which he was a central figure.
Around 10 p.m. Dec. 1, according to documents filed last week in King County Superior Court, Porter, Porter's girlfriend and Sergio Reyes-Brooks lured McCray into their car by pretending they were going to a White Center bar.
They apparently thought McCray had stolen money or drugs from a friend, and as they drove Reyes-Brooks allegedly ordered McCray to remove his clothes.
They ended up on 18th Avenue South, just off South 136th Street, a dead-end road in North SeaTac Park with overgrown brush on one side and play fields on the other.
After ordering McCray to get out, Porter allegedly shot him twice and Reyes-Brooks-saying he wanted to make sure there were no witnesses-allegedly got out and fired a single shot into McCray's head as he lay bleeding on the asphalt.
McCray's body was discovered by an off-duty sheriff's deputy planning to take his police dog to that park, but by then the killers were gone.
Sergio Reyes-Brooks, 26, has been charged with first-degree murder for McCray's death. He also was charged with illegal possession of a firearm.
Investigators said the trio then went to a house party in White Center, which turned violent when a man's truck slammed into a sport utility vehicle outside the party.
Partygoers shot the driver, then kicked the wounded man.
The driver, whose head was grazed by at least two gunshots, survived.
Glenn Lagdaan, 32, was charged with first-degree assault for that attack and illegally possessing a gun.
Sheriff's deputies were investigating that shooting when Porter fatally shot Cox.
Porter and Reyes-Brooks allegedly used the same gun to kill McCray, which Porter later used to kill Deputy Cox.
Porter's girlfriend was arrested for attempting to keep medics from reaching the deputy as he lay dying.
