Two stabbed in Tukwila
A 76-year-old woman Tukwila woman suffered life threatening stab wounds after her 39-year-old son attacked her with a steak knife. Police arrived at the mother's condominium in the 3800 block of South 158th Street and found the woman and her son conscious, with several stab wounds each.
Both were taken to Harborview Medical Center with critical Injuries. Police spokesman Mike Murphy said, "There was an altercation between the son and the mother, and we don't know why."
Police are still trying to determine how the son got all his wounds, but it appears they were self-inflicted, Murphy said. A standard steak knife was recovered at the scene.
Motor home crash leaves two hurt
Two people were critically injured when a motor home crashed into a light pole. Troopers said the older-model motor home crashed into the pole while on the off ramp from the southbound lanes of State Route 509 to South 188th Way on the south end of SeaTac Airport around 6:30 p.m.
The driver, a 61-year-old man, and the passenger, a 42-year-old woman, were both taken to Harborview Medical Center. Both are said to be from Shoreline. Troopers initially said the two sustained life-threatening injuries, but by 8:20 p.m. they were both listed in stable condition.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, but troopers don't believe speed or alcohol played a factor. The off ramp was expected to be shut down until 10:30 p.m. for investigation and cleanup.
Autistic boy killed crossing road
A severely autistic 11-year-old boy wandered away from his SeaTac home Saturday around 4:30 p.m. While family and friends were looking in the neighborhood for the boy, the State Patrol was notified of a child walking along the shoulder of Highway 99.
By the time the officers arrived, the child had been struck by a flatbed truck while trying to cross the northbound lanes.
The child was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died Sunday of his injuries. The driver of the truck isn't expected to be charged.
Five arrested at party
Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 3100 block of South 166th St. An unknown person allegedly fired a .40 caliber handgun into the sky during a party in a residential neighborhood.
During the investigation police learned that five people attending the party had unrelated warrants. All five were taken into custody.
