Betty J. Tyler

Betty was born January 31, 1923 in Seattle, Washington to Ruby and Leslie Albert Anderson. She grew up in Rainier Valley and graduated from Franklin High School. She married Donald Woodrow Tyler on August 5, 1942 and had seven children. After raising her children she went back to school and got her LPN degree. She worked as a nurse at Virginia Mason and she was named an outstanding employee in 1982.

She was preceded in death by her son John and her husband Donald. She is survived by her six remaining children: Donald, Barbara, Galen, Kevin (Lori), Nancy, Marta and grandchildren: John, Donald, Tricia, Mark, Christopher and Brandon and her great grandchildren: Hollie, Clay and Duke, and her brothers Walter (Gloria), and Howard Anderson.

She loved all creatures great and small, bird watching, genealogy, great conversation and the Mariners. She died unexpectedly at Mount St. Helens in the company of her beloved grandchildren Brandon and Christopher and her daughter, Nancy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society for Seattle/ King County. A graveside service will be held at Lake View Cemetery on April 22nd at 1 p.m.
