Mrs. Ethel E. McInroy of Joseph, Ore., and formerly of Burien, passed away after a short illness on Aug. 12. She was 97 years old and a descendent of the pioneer Western family who settled in the Duwamish and Boulevard Park areas, and attended the Southern Heights School. She had lived on the same property in Burien for 76 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, D.N. McInroy, in January 1991, and by her son, Donald H. McInroy, in April of 1991.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Counsell, of the family home, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Also on cousin of her generation.

Private Family Memorial Services were held and her ashes and those of her husband were scattered in the high mountains in accordance with their wishes.
