Earl S.

STOUGARD

Earl S. Stougard, born June 10, 1919, passed into God's presence on Sept. 9, 2005. His wife Lois, whom he loved dearly, preceded him in death. They were married 64 years until her passing in November 2002.

Earl, a lifelong Seattle-area resident, was born north of Burien and lived in South Park, South Seattle and Kent.

During World War II, he served in the Philippines with the U.S. Army. His military and civilian training served him well as he excelled in mechanical and electrical skills. Earl worked at both Issacson and Jorgensen Steel companies. He began as a machinist and quickly rose to a position of superintendent of mechanical and electrical maintenance. He loved the challenge of his work.

Earl was known to all for his gardening. His greenhouses and yard were always filled with beautiful and unusual plants. Often friends and family would call on his experience for gardening assistance.

His family was his greatest source of joy and he will be missed deeply by all. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Lois; sisters Ethel, Irene Sanders, and Gladys McMurray; brothers John and Roy; and granddaughter Katie Jensen.

He is survived by son Robert and daughter-in-law Pat, and grandsons Steven, Matthew and Christopher; son Jerry; son Larry and daughter-in-law Pam, and granddaughters Laura and Caitlin; daughter Dottie and son-in-law Leif, and granddaughters Amy, Jenny and Hailey; and daughter Debbie and son-in-law Parker, and grandson Peter and granddaughter Shellie; and his great-grandchildren, Jonah, Lewis, Nathan and Kathryn.

A Memorial Service was held Sept. 15 at Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Washington.

The family would like to thank the staff at MooreCare in Kent for their loving care of their father for the past two years.
