Philip ‘Phil’ C. FOSTER

February 18, 1919 - November 1, 2005

A great and blessed man gently slipped the bonds of earth and soared aloft on Nov. 1, 2005. He was known variously as "Phil," "dad," "pa-pa," "daddy-o" and "grampa" to the nine people he loved most. He was at various times in his long life a scout, a soldier, an aircraft engineer and a model builder par excellence.

He is and always will be remembered by his four daughters, Kathy, Dagny, Leslie and Kim as the man to whom all other men were compared; by his son, Clark, as a role model and inspiration, and by Bonnie, his wife of 63 years, as her beloved and cherished life partner and best friend.

The world is a better place for his having been here and has been lessened by his departure. God bless him and keep him safe in your loving arms for eternity. "Gone flyin. Love always."

A memorial service to celebrate and honor this wonderful man will be held at 1 p.m. Wed., Nov. 9, at Bonney-Watson Parker Chapel, 900 S.W. 146th St., in Burien, with a reception to follow. A private commital service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetary in Kent.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil's name can be made to the Red Cross, Salvation Army or Valley Medical Center. The family offers their deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses of Valley Medical Center for the warm blanket of compassion and care they wrapped around us all.
