Vernon Kenneth Wining, born Dec. 2, 1925, passed Nov. 5, 2005, at age 79.

A two service, two-war veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman in the Pacific during World War II and as an Army medic in the Korean War. He was most proud of his Navy career and was put to rest with a Navy Honor Guard on Nov. 19, 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Glenna, and a blended family of six children, daughter Becky, sons Glenn, Keith, Bret, and Scott, and several grandchildren.

A celebration of his life for Vernon will be hosted by close family and friends and honorary family members Allen and Lisa Bowen on Dec. 2, 2005. He will be sorely missed by all.
