Mychael "Mickie" A. Barkus passed away peacefully at her home in Kent on Monday December 12, 2005, at the age of 62. She was born July 2, 1943.

Mickie, as she was known by family and friends, is survived by her two daughters, Tonya Snyder of Kent and Melissa Barkus of Covington; a sister, Toni Christianson of Mt. Vernon; and a brother, Bill Mhyre of Aiken, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 30 years, Gary Barkus, and their daughter Sarah, who were killed in August 1999 by a drunk driver, and also by her parents, Lyle and Florence Mhyre.

Mickie enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, knitting, porcelain dolls and a multitude of other crafts.

Services will be held January 7, 2006, at 3 p.m. at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel, 27221 156th Ave. S.E., Kent.
