Phyllis MEENTS

Phyllis died unexpectedly on Christmas night after spending the holiday with her family. Phyllis was born in Spokane in 1921 where she met and married her husband, Henry, in 1939. They moved to Seattle in 1940 where they have lived ever since. They purchased property in Moses Lake in the early eighties and spent half of the year there fishing and entertaining their children and grandchildren, whenever they could get them.

Phyllis was a wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family unconditionally and whose pride in them was enormous. We all knew that whatever decision we made, she would stand behind that decision and support it. Phyllis loved her husband, children and the grandchildren that they brought her. She was often seen snapping photographs of her family, as was evidenced by the many photos that she had on display in her home.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 65 years, Henry; her sister, Mary Amende of Normandy Park; her three children, David Meents, Karl Meents, and Karen Zeller; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward, her grandson Michael and her great-granddaughter Brianna.

Phyllis last day was filled with thoughts of her entire family, and this brings some peace to all survived by her. We will miss her so much.

The family is holding a private service, in celebration of her life.

Donations may be sent, in lieu of flowers, to the American Heart Association.
