Eugenia Cook "Cookie" Duffy passed away peacefully at home Feb. 20.

She was born Nov. 12, 1920, to Clement Allen Cook and Fannie Wall Cook in Belle Fourche, S.D. Raised in Sedro Wooley, she graduated valedictorian of her class. After graduating from Cornish School of the Arts, she worked as a window dresser for Best Clothing Stores.

She met and was swept off her feet by Gilbert L. Duffy Jr. They were married on Valentine's Day, 1943, and were married for 53 wonderful years. Cookie and Gil enjoyed boating, classic car meets and traveling. She was a talented artist and especially enjoyed needlework. The U.S. Postal Service chose Cookie’s submission for the Seahurst Post Office Pictorial Commemorative Canolation honoring the Seahurst Post Office's 80th year celebration.

Cookie and Gil raised four daughters on the shores of Puget Sound on property owned by the family for 98 years. Preceded in death by her brother Al (Florence), she is survived by her husband, Gil, and brother Bob (Ada); daughters Jinx (Oley), Joanne (Bill), April (Jay), and Wende; grandchildren Sarah, Travis, Karyn, Jennifer, Matt, Andy, Jamie and Molly; and great-grandchildren Alec, Brock, Brogan, Jeret and Kaden.

We wish to thank our wonderful caregivers and all of her friend for their loving support. Private internment was at Acacia Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to D.A.H.R.T. (Disabled Americans Have Rights Too), 616 S.W. 152nd St., Burien, WA 98166.

She was most loved and will be missed by all.
