Kathleen Metta (Morgan) Alberts passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in the Helena Valley of Montana on May 10, 2006. She had waged a courageous battle against myleo fibrosis.

Kathy was born in Helena, Mont., to Charles T. and Metta "Bobbie" (Johnson) Morgan on Feb. 28, 1941. She attended St. Helena's grade school and Cathedral High School, graduating in the Class of 1959. She briefly attended Carroll College, and in the early 1960s moved to Seattle where she was employed as a claims supervisor for King County Blue Cross/Blue Shield. In 1968 she married Richard Alberts in Seattle and set out on a career of child rearing and volunteering. In the 1980s she went to work as a secretary and computer operator for St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Seahurst, retiring from this position in 1998. Kathy and her husband returned to Helena in 2000 and established a home in El Dorado Heights northwest of York.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael. She is survived by her husband, daughter Anne Charpentier (Philip) of Helena and daughter Amy Alberts of Seattle. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces in the area. She leaves behind many friends in Seattle and Helena. She had very special feelings for the ladies of the Broadwater Athletic Club water aerobics class.

Kathy was a member of pioneer families of both Montana and South Dakota, and one of the oldest families in this country -- the Morgans of West Virginia. She was particularly proud of her Irish immigrant grandmother, which made every St. Patrick's Day a special occasion for her.
