Margaret Opsata, 91, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on April 30, 2006. She was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Valley City, N.D., to Elmer and Margaret Hindsley. She married Al Opsata on Feb. 25, 1938. They were married for 55 years.

Margaret and Al were partners in running the T B & M grocery stores and later, in retirement, their 29-acre ranch. She enjoyed gardening, stamp and coin collecting, baking and getting together with family. Margaret was considered the family “President,” and she was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al, daughter Patricia Hamilton and great-granddaughter Fiona Moreno.

She is survived by her daughters Bonnie Johnson (Steele), Tere Noll (Wayne), six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

The “President” will be missed but never forgotten by her loving family.

Services were held May 6 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton. Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.
