The Ballard boys basketball team knew they had a tough game ahead of them in facing Garfield, the number one team in the state and they played very well.
It was a high scoring game which started off tied at 18 points at the end of the first quarter. At half-time Garfield had taken a four-point lead but the Beavers didn't give up, scoring 48 points in the second half. But it wasn't enough and Garfield won with a final score of 80 to 88.
Seth Berger scored 28 points, Salim Gloyd 25.
Ballard now has to win the next game or Inglemoor needs to lose their game against Garfield on Friday to ensure that Ballard will host the first round playoff game in front of a home crowd.
Theit last chance for that win is Friday night at Roosevelt.
