The Chief Sealth girls basketball team had a rough go of it against the Bainbridge Spartans at home and the results were not what they were looking for. It wasn't for their lack of hustle, they gave it what they could. Their energy level was high, fighting for rebounds, moving on defense but their shots and free throws just weren't dropping. The advantage the Spartans had was getting inside for easy shots close to the basket due against the Seahawk defense.
Just before the first half ended Sealth coach Maris was given a technical foul. (see photo in slideshow) The referee claimed she was yelling at him but in fact she was yelling at her player to get the shot off before the clock ran out. It was just one of those nights.
The Spartans would add to their lead by outscoring the Seahawks by an average of over 6 points a quarter. The leading scorers for the Seahawks were Justine Decker with 13 points and Victoria Elleby added 11.
