The first two of seven single family homes at The Terrace at Greenbridge are now officially on the market. On the southwest corner of SW 100th St. and 8th Ave. SW in White Center is a 4 bedroom, 1,500 Square foot home, priced at $274,900. To it's west is a 3 bedroom, 1,349 square foot home at $249,900, slightly more with natural gas connection. Appliances are included in the airy layouts.
They will be completed at the beginning of April. The other five will be completed at one month intervals. The seven homes are available only to buyers earning up to 80-percent of the area median income, and up to $45,000 in down payment assistance is offered.
For a single buyer, annual income cannot exceed $45,100. For two people, $51,550, a family of 3 is $58,000, a family of 4, $64,400.
This is our '100-percent corner,'" said Deborah Gooden pridefully. She is Greenbridge General Mananger. Greenbridge has partnered with King County Housing Authority and HomeSight developers. Why 100-percent? "We think this is one of our best corners in our whole site," Gooden said. HomeSight is a non-profit real estate developer and lender specializing in first-time homeowners. Johnson Braund Design Group is providing architectural services for the HomeSight homes. Peter Davis Builders is the general contractor for the project.
The corner is quite the sweet spot. Across the street are the White Center Heights Elementary School and the Educare Early Learning and Head Start Center. About a block away is the library, the YWCA Adult Learning Center, a bus stop, and, critical to many, the elegant Dubsea Coffee shop.
Gooden is also on the Design Authority board.
"These homes were carefully designed to be affordable, energy efficient, and attractive," she said. "Habitat (for Humanity) and the King County Housing Authority originally were going to build on the site. We adapted them with HomeSight who we sold the land to. It's terribly important to us to see the home ownership component come into Greenbridge. We have 472 apartments and 45 acres of land that will hold up to 400 homes, some condos, some single family, and these are the first."
