The postseason is in the air this week, starting with girls sports Tuesday and continuing with football this Friday.

Five area postseason girls events are scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday.

In volleyball, Chief Sealth visits Foster at that time as Evergreen entertains Cedarcrest and Ballard meets West Seattle at Blanchet.

Chief Sealth visits Nathan Hale in girls soccer as Kennedy Catholic goes down to Tacoma to play Stadium.

The Kennedy Catholic volleyball team visits Auburn-Riverside at 7:15 p.m. and the Highline volleyball team waits until 5:30 p.m. Thursday to take on Interlake at Mercer Island.

Friday's football action starts at 6:30 p.m. as Chief Sealth visits Olympic in a Class 2A playoff.

West Seattle journeys to Kennewick for a 2 p.m. Saturday Class 3A playoff.  It will take place at Lampson Stadium.

Kennedy Catholic will host Lake Washington for a Class 4A playoff at Highline Memorial this Saturday at a time yet to be determined.

Mount Rainier will be there for a non-playoff game against Central Kitsap at 7 p.m. Friday.

Ballard, meanwhile, has a 7 p.m. Friday non-playoff scheduled against Ingraham at the Northwest Athletic Complex in Seattle.

Non-playoff games to be scheduled involve Foster, Highline and Evergreen.
