Information from White Center Food Bank
We wanted to share an important update on our 2025 End-of-Year Appeal: thanks to the generosity of our community, we have raised nearly $50,000, reaching the halfway point of our fundraising goal. As the new year arrives, we are inviting supporters to help us finish strong and ensure our neighbors continue to have access to nutritious food in the year ahead.
This milestone comes during a year of extraordinary growth and achievement for White Center Food Bank. In 2025, we successfully sunset our Capital Campaign after raising $1.5 million above its $8.6 million goal, paid off ourare debt-free owners of our new building. We also sold out the 4th Annual Taste of White Center, expanded gleaning programs at the West Seattle and Burien Farmers Markets, resulting in more than 45,000 pounds of donated produce while also strengthening community connections through artist collaborations, donor appreciation events, and community partner meetings.
As part of the 2025 End-of-Year Appeal, we encourage our community to give an amount that is meaningful to you and help us close the remaining gap.
Despite current challenges, our best days are ahead. Together, White Center Food Bank will continue bringing people together, one plate at a time.

ABOUT THE WHITE CENTER FOOD BANK
White Center Food Bank began in the mid-1970’s as an emergency response to assist struggling families and individuals in the greater White Center and Highline areas during a major economic downturn. Much like today, many in the community were faced with difficult economic conditions that left them in need of food resources. We were there then. We are here now.
Current food bank programs include daytime, and seniors-only food distributions; expanded home deliveries; mobile food bank program to three senior housing sites; pop-up food pantries; a Baby Pantry providing formula, baby foods and more; cultural foods buying program and grocery rescue. Intake services are provided in nine languages.
In 2025 we served 15,549 individuals (150,879 individual visits), 6,189 households (62,214 total household visits) and distributed 1.7 million lbs of food.
