The Alpenglow Effect
Sunny Skies and hardpacked groomed runs will be the story of this weekend. Temps have decreased, but the area has not seen any new snow, so most off piste terrain is closed across Western Washington. There may be a little bit of snow on our horizon next week!
Summit at Snoqualmie
Weekend Weather- Temps: 37°/19°
Sunny Skies with some clouds, no precipitation on
the forecast this weekend, but some snow may fall on Monday!Springlike conditions are continuing at Summit, along with the rest of the PNW. There has not been any snowfall throughout the week, so expect the groomers to be packed down and off piste terrain to be limited.
Summit has had to close Central, East, and Silver Fir for this weekend, to focus snowmaking and operations on West and Alpental. Expect this to remain the case until we receive winter storms. Only West will be open for night skiing.
Alpental
Weekend Weather- Temps: 33°/17°
Mostly Sunny, with some clouds. No snow this weekend, but there is a slight chance for a Monday Afternoon snowfall.
Continue using your rock skis, because Alpental has not seen any fresh snow since the last report. Expect limited terrain and grooming due to a lack of coverage. Alpental has also paused their night skiing- so head over to West for your night skiing. Those with the Alpy Night Party Pack can ski at West since Alpental is closed
Stevens Pass
Weekend Weather- Temps: 31°/17°
Sunny weather prevails, with clouds rolling in Sunday evening. There has been no snow falling since our last report, so expect coverage to be slightly worse.
While temps have dropped since last weekend, the lack of snow has led to some more terrain closure. Double Diamond and 7th Heaven lifts will continue to be closed. Unfortunately, the backside of Stevens Pass, Mill Valley, will be closed this weekend. Night skiing at Stevens will be open, however. Enjoy the bluebird skies and groomed runs this weekend.
Crystal Mtn
Weekend Weather- Temps: 32°/18°
Some snow may start falling Monday Evening.
- Mostly Sunny Skies, no snow over the weekend, but Crystal Mtn continues the trend of no new snow and warm-ish temperatures. About 1/3rd of Crystal’s terrain is open, with the Chair 6, Northway, and Gold Hills lifts being closed. Expect hardpack conditions on the groomed runs, and bring your rock skies as snow coverage is very light, as demonstrated in this photo below.

Mission Ridge
Weekend Weather- Temps: 25°/14°
- Mostly sunny skies and slightly windy conditions this weekend. Unfortunately, there has been no snow accumulation since last week.
Mission Ridge will be open this weekend for day and night skiing with limited terrain.
Expect many of the upper runs to be closed. However, the snow making at Mission Ridge is excellent, and their open groomed runs will be very nice. This writer visited Mission Ridge on Wednesday, and had a blast ripping down their groomed runs.
White PassWeekend Weather- Temps 38°/24°
Over the weekend. Expect mostly sunny skies.
- Slight chance of snow Thursday Night. No precipitation
White Pass will have all of their beginner and intermediate terrain open and groomed, however all advanced terrain will be closed due to the snow coverage. Couloir Lift will most likely be closed, but 4 the Birds lift will be open. This Saturday, White Pass is hosting Light Up The Night, Night Skiing until 8pm. Join White Pass for a glow party night with DJs, lights, and food!
Mt Baker
Weekend Weather- Temps: 43°/27°
Evening.
- Mostly Sunny Skies and no precipitation until Monday
Mt Baker Ski Area will be experiencing warm, beautiful Bluebird weather all weekend long! Temps will be in the mid 30s to low 40s. Expect some lifts to be closed due to weather conditions
Hurricane Ridge
Weekend Weather- Temps 35°/26°
- Light Snowfall on Thursday, but expect mostly sunny skies for Saturday and Sunday
Hurricane Ridge is planned to be open Saturday and Sunday. Expect spring like conditions and bring your rock skis!
