Postseason athletic action saw mixed results for local teams, with several programs extending their seasons while others faced narrow defeats. In baseball, Chief Sealth kept its season alive with an 11-6 victory over Cedarcrest, securing a spot in state action this coming Saturday.
Kennedy Catholic also successfully extended its season by defeating Battle Ground 5-3, following a dominant 9-2 win over Camas earlier in the week. However, the West Seattle Wildcats saw their season end in a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Eastside Catholic, despite previous playoff wins against Seattle Prep and Garfield.
The fastpitch softball courts featured high-scoring games and dominant performances. Chief Sealth experienced a rollercoaster of results, delivering an 18-2 blowout against Lindbergh and a narrow 14-13 win over Evergreen, but ultimately suffered a massive 21-0 shutout loss to Nathan Hale. Meanwhile, Evergreen managed a high-scoring 13-12 victory over Foster, and Foster recorded a 7-0 shutout against Renton earlier in the week.
In boys soccer, Mt. Rainier split its postseason results, following up a 4-1 victory over Camas with a 3-0 loss to Emerald Ridge. Tyee delivered the most dominant performance in the category with an 8-0 shutout against Annie Wright in non-league play. Nathan Hale also showed strong form, securing a 6-1 win over Foster and a 5-0 shutout against Evergreen.
