The unmistakable roar of jet engines is set to return to the Pacific Northwest as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels headline the Boeing Seafair Air Show over Lake Washington. From July 31 to August 2, 2026, Seattle’s skyline will serve as the backdrop for one of the most anticipated aerial displays in the country, continuing a cherished summer tradition.
A Weekend of High-Speed Spectacle
While the official festival kicks off on Friday, enthusiasts can get an early glimpse of the action on Thursday, July 30. The Blue Angels are scheduled for two practice runs that day: the first from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and a second session from 3:30 PM to 4:40 PM.
The main performances will take place Friday through Sunday, with the jets taking to the skies at approximately 3:30 PM each day. Sunday’s finale offers a special addition, beginning with a Freedom Plane fly-by at 3:20 PM just before the Blue Angels begin their flight at 3:30 PM.
Where to Catch the Action
The heart of the festival is located at Genesee Park and Lake Washington (4316 S Genesee St, Seattle), where the gates open daily at 8:30 AM. For those looking to see the precision of these aircraft from the ground, the Museum of Flight will host the Jet Blast Bash on August 1 and 2 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This event offers a unique opportunity for close-up views of the jet departures and landings at their base of operations, Boeing Field/King County International Airport.
Planning Your Visit
Seafair 2026 offers several ways to enjoy the show:
Free Friday: In a popular move for families, gate admission is free on Friday, July 31.
Weekend Admission: General admission for Saturday and Sunday is $55 for adults.
Special Discounts: Admission is free for children under 12 and is either free or discounted for military members with a valid ID.
As the Blue Angels prepare to dominate the Seattle skies once again, the city braces for a weekend of speed, precision, and community celebration. Practice times are tentative and subject to change, so fans are encouraged to arrive early at their chosen viewing spots to catch every moment of the 2026 performance.
