High school sports are officially back in action, bringing an exciting wave of season openers across football, girls soccer, and volleyball. In football, Eastside Catholic made a massive opening statement by routing West Seattle 47-12.
Foster also put on a dominant display, defeating Kentridge 36-7.
Defense was the story for several programs, as Clover Park blanked Evergreen 26-0 and Seattle Prep shut out Chief Sealth 30-0. Meanwhile, Saturday afternoon featured a highly competitive battle where Bellevue narrowly edged out Kennedy Catholic 14-10.
On the soccer pitch, South Kitsap delivered the most dominant performance of the opening week, slamming Mt. Rainier 8-0. Kennedy Catholic found redemption after their close football loss by shutting down West Seattle 4-0 in Thursday action, while Cleveland cruised past Foster 3-0. Volleyball action saw Ballard secure a strong four-set victory (3-1) over Interlake, while Graham-Kapowsin handed Kennedy Catholic a 3-1 defeat in their Wednesday opener.
