The woo-woo that you do

Have you ever woken from a dream rattled? You try to shake it off, figuratively, or literally. Bet you didn’t know, you just did energy work.
If you’ve ever taken a walk, run or drive to diffuse anger or stress? That’s energy work. Or participated in sports or activities to redirect restlessness or manage sex drive? Also energy work.
All this time you roll your eyes at “energy work” and never knew you were doing it yourself.
The ways you’ve learned to deal with energy regulate you and keep you functional, but regulation isn’t the same thing as resolution and function isn’t the same thing as thriving. Without complete resolution, the residue of life’s difficulty is like magnetism. You try to do better, be better, heal, feel good, etc. but you always get pulled back into the same problems and patterns.
That happened to me with a neck injury from a car accident that left me with chronic headaches. As a seasoned movement and meditation teacher, I felt the “pull” of the neck tension, developed a practice of releasing/monitoring it and considered it managed. The reality was, I had just become accustomed to accommodating it, and the issue was more than physical, it’s root was energetic.
Despite energy medicine being as old as energy, my western skepticism was as old as me and I kept my distance. Until I discovered Eileen McKusick, the founder of Biofield Tuning. Her down-to-earth demeanor and research based approach, got me curious and then the results sealed the deal.
Beyond locating the energy literally “pulling” on my neck, it uncovered an entire underlying pattern. A stiffness and stubbornness around my left knee, a weakness and fear off my left chest, a busyness swirling at my right hip. All components of the pattern creating the neck pain. My energy was in a tug of war, and no amount of my efforts mentally or physically could resolve what I couldn’t see.
Despite our best efforts, coping with, accommodating or shaking off life’s challenges without clearing the energy behind them amounts to ignoring and carrying on. That has its place, but when we keep cycling back to the same issues, small stuff becomes big stuff and our whole life is defined by limits. Wherever you are on that spectrum, an energy practitioner can help. They’ve developed the sensitivity to feel energies so normal you don’t notice, so buried you can’t feel, or so persistent you mistake them for who you are. Their help clearing inherited, adopted and cultural patterns is the only way I’ve found to know real freedom.
If you’re a skeptic like I was, western science is beginning to confirm ancient energetic medicine modalities and even using frequency to treat cancer tumors. If frequency can do that, imagine what it can do for you!
If you can’t imagine it, shake off that fear of the unknown to see the unknown as curiosity of the potential. You will never know if you don’t give it a try. (Learn More about Biofield Tuning Here)
