One man died and another was injured following an early morning shooting near the intersection of Southwest 130th Street and 2nd Avenue Southwest in Burien.
Multiple 911 calls alerted authorities to the shooting around 3:40 a.m. to 3:41 a.m.. Responding deputies located one man dead from gunshot wounds directly at the scene. Shortly after, a bystander flagged down responding deputies to report a second man who sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) responded alongside officers from Burien, SeaTac, Shoreline, Metro, and Sound Transit units. KCSO spokesperson Master Police Officer Jace Hoch stated that investigators do not yet know whether the two victims knew each other. At this time, no suspects have been detained or taken into custody.

The police activity has caused local traffic disruptions. 2nd Avenue Southwest is closed between SW 128th Street and SW 132nd Street. Detectives expect the road closure to remain in place through much of the Friday morning commute while the scene is processed, and drivers are advised to use alternative routes.
