Summer is coming, and the Friends of the Hylebos has new restoration and habitat enhancement events planned. If you would like tobe involved in any of these events, please RSVP to streamteam@hylebos.org.
A volunteer confirmation with directions and other details will be sent out on Thursday, two days before the event.
June 14
West Hylebos Wetlands
9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Come learn about native and invasive plants while we remove Himalayan blackberry sprouts from the most recently planted restoration site at the West Hylebos Wetlands Park, located off 348th St. in Federal Way.
July 19 and July 26
East Branch Hylebos Creek (exact location TBA)
9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ever wondered how a small community group can improve salmon habitat? We will be pounding stakes into the stream bed to stabilize and diversify Hylebos Creek. This is physical work, and is inappropriate for anyone under 16 years of age.
Limit 10 people per event, so sign up early.
