Highline Medical Services Organization will sponsor two free "Doc Talks" on arthritis this month.

"Total Hip Replacement for the Treatment of Arthritis" is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6:30-8 p.m. in Highline Medical Center's Somers Auditorium - 3rd Floor, Cedar Wing - at 16251 Sylvester Road S.W. in Burien.

Highline Medical Services Organization, the Arthritis Foundation, Genzyme's Synvisc and Depuy will sponsor "Arthritis of the Knees and Treatment Options" on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon.

It will also be in Somers Auditorium.

Both Doc Talks will be presented by John A. Lombardi, M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon.

He will provide a description of the cause and process of arthritis, and types of invasive and non-invasive treatments. Lombardi will discuss indications for surgery, explanation of the procedures and what to expect post-surgery.

He has been practicing in Burien since 2002.
