Vehicle Break-ins keep Federal Way police busy

1. The resident of 3324 Southwest 323rd Street came into the station to report that her vehicle was broken into between 11:00 p.m. and 5 a.m. while parked in her driveway. She did not report the break-in at the time because she believed only a flashlight was taken, but since has discovered that an old Federal Credit Union checkbook was stolen. The thief used the checkbook to write two fraudulent checks, totaling $1,582, against the account.
2. A man notified Federal Way police reported that some of his property was stolen from a vehicle he was borrowing from a friend. The car was parked at the Wal-Mart store at 1900 South 314th Street. He believes he locked up the vehicle, and when he returned, he found his two suitcases missing with no obvious signs of forced entry. The man told police that he had medications in his suitcases and his doctor would not write him a new prescription without a police report.
3. Federal Way police pulled over a man near 2200 SW 356th Street for several traffic offenses. Officers arrested the driver of a maroon 1985 Cadillac for third degree driving with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance.
Federal Way police served a warrant on Sean E. Blanchard at 401 4th Avenue North in Kent.
4. The woman living at 1412 Southwest 312th Street came into the station to report the fraudulent use of her Washington Mutual debit card. The card is not physically missing, the woman said, and she has no idea how or when the information was stolen. She noticed a problem with her account when her checks started bouncing. When she contacted her bank, they told her that three transactions were made on 9/2 at the Wal-Mart store in Lacey totaling $2,500. The woman did not make these transactions.
5. A hit-and-run accident involving a white 2002 Lexus was reported at 35100 Enchanted Parkway South. Police apprehended the driver and charged them with traffic offenses including property damage.
6. A man living at 131 Mirror Lake Park called to report that his vehicle was broken into overnight while parked in his apartment complex parking lot. The man came out in the morning and noticed the driver's side window smashed and his wallet missing. Thieves also took an envelope contain his rent money ($650 in cash) missing from inside the vehicle.
7. Officers arrived at 32744 30th Avenue Southwest, where they unknown suspects broke a window to a vehicle. The thieves stole a car stereo, valued at $100 from the resident's gold 2000 Saturn. The victim said no other items were missing. The suspects left in a dark colored Buick.
8. Federal Way PD served an outstanding warrant on Joevaughn L. Johnson at 31003 14th Ave South.
Officers picked up Everett G. Dixson on an outstanding Federal Way after Tukwila police had made the arrest.
9. Federal Way police committed the resident of 1300 Southwest Campus Drive, #56-4. The woman was crying, officers reported, and she looked hopeless and distraught. She stated she was on the low end of a bi-polar disorder and she would like a break from life. The victim was lucid and comprehensive and denied the use of illicit drugs or alcohol that day. She said she has not slept at all since last Thursday and is irritable.
10. Residents of 34230 27th Avenue Southwest contacted police to report their vehicle was broken into overnight while parked in their driveway. They came outside in the morning and found the passenger window smashed. The only thing taken from the vehicle was a bag of clothes the residents hoped to donate to Goodwill.
11. Officers responded to a verbal domestic situation at 30855 10th Avenue Southwest involving a 16-year-old boy and his father. The father stated that the son got verbally disrespectful and he disciplined him by pushing his upper check/neck. The son said he tried to push his father away with his foot but he missed. Both said they were not injured and officers noted only slight redness on the right part of the boy's neck and shoulder. The son is currently going through a youth-at-risk petition. Officers advised them both of domestic violence laws.
12. Federal Way police responded to a verbal domestic situation at 1300 Southwest Campus Drive, #52-3. No injuries or threats were reported.
13. Shawna M. Mills came into the station at 33325 8th Avenue South to turn herself in for fourth degree assault. Officer Hatfield confirmed her warrant and took her into custody. She was then transported to the Auburn jail.
14. Candy A. Kjellerson turned herself in at the Federal Way police station at 33325 8th Avenue South for an outstanding warrant for third-degree theft. She was transported to the RJC in Kent and booked.
15. The driver of a 2000 Lexus reported a break-in to their vehicle parked at the Azteca restaurant at 31740 23rd Avenue South. The driver noticed the rear driver's side window smashed. The only thing missing from the vehicle was a book bag containing her day planner and miscellaneous personal paperwork.
CPS contacted Federal Way Police to check on a seven-year-old girl with a pink mark on her side. The girl stated that she was hit by her mother with a belt. Her mother told police it was an accident. The girl was misbehaving, her mother said, and she decided to get her attention by snapping the cloth belt on a floor. At the same time the girl rolled on the floor and was hit in the side.
