Dorothy V. Lockerbie

Dorothy V. Lockerbie died peacefully on December 23, 2005 in West Seattle. Born in Portland, Oregon on February 2, 1910, she was the sixth in a family on seven children. She graduated from Portland's Commerce (now Cleveland) High School in 1928. On June 12, 1931 she married Harold Lockerbie and they enjoyed more than 57 years of life together. During the 1930's she worked for a real estate firm in Portland. On August 2, 1942, Harold and Dorothy were blessed with their only son Jim. Dorothy enjoyed traveling to the Oregon Coast in 1946 she and Harold purchased a home in Tolovana park (Cannon Beach), Oregon. This is where she lived with her family during the summers until 1971, when the home was sold. In Portland, the family resided in the Maywood Park and Montavilla areas until 1954 when her husband was transferred to Seattle by Uniroyal Corporation. There, they resided in West Seattle where Harold passed away in 1989. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and keeping up on current events and often engaged in lively debates about major issues. She is survived by her loving son, Jim and her loving grandson, Gordon, both from Seattle; sister, Beulah Mizer, of Portland, Oregon and several other relative. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her late husband Harold at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Lincoln Park in Portland Oregon.
