Lisa Broadstone, eighth grade student at Madison Middle School won the prestigious Mayor's Scholar Award recently for her outstanding academics and community service.
Lisa is the daughter of Jennifer and David Broadstone. She has a 4.0 GPA for the first semester at Madison. Lisa is active in the band, math club, soccer, basketball, softball and gymnastics. She has volunteered six years for Friends of Animals, an organization that rescues feral cats. She has helped to capture kittens and foster them before they are adopted. She donated 12 inches of hair to Locks for Love after growing it for the past two years.
Lisa will receive a $500 college scholarship and an evening with Mayor Greg Nickels soon.
