Each spring, the YMCA has the opportunity to honor a group of volunteers who have gone above and beyond, who stand out from their peers for their service and leadership. We are proud to announce the Volunteers of the Year from 2005 for the Fauntleroy and West Seattle YMCAs. They are:

- In the "Youth/Young Adult" category, Angelica Amesquita

- In the "Active Older Adult" category, Carroll Kimsey and Ben Messina

- In the "Program Volunteer" category, Lisa Kennan-Meyer and Sharon Lamme

- In the "Financial Development" category, Tish Hesse, Therese Meehan and Jill Mudge

- In the "Policy Volunteer" category, Ron Levine and Patty Mastrude.

These volunteers were recently honored in a ceremony at Benaroya Hall, but we think it's even more important that their local community learn about their service and achievement. Folks like these help the YMCA provide programs and services to our West Seattle community that would otherwise not be possible. Please join us in celebrating these outstanding individuals who exemplify the idea of service to their fellow human beings.
