Pair arrested at marina
Des Moines police officers responded to reports of an 18-year-old male yelling at pedestrians at the marina on May 6, around 6:25 p.m. in the 22700 block of Dock Avenue.
When officers arrived an employee at the marina said the man and his girlfriend were living on a boat in the guest moorage area. He wanted them escorted out of the marina.
Officers went to the boat, where neither the man nor the 20-year-old girlfriend were able to provide identification. However, they gave their names to the officers who ran a check and learned they both had outstanding warrants.
After arresting them, officers found a bag of crystal methamphetamine, weighing 3.3 grams, in the woman’s purse. She said she had taken meth 20 minutes before the officers got there.
