A West Seattle resident convinced his heroin and crack-addicted sister to come to town for a detox program. He picked her up and took her to dinner, where she went to the restroom and fell unconscious. Taken to Harborview, she left the hospital against medical advice and disappeared. He has not seen her since, though she has called several times to say that she is being held against her will and that she needs $150 before the "two guys" will let her go. There is no listed address for the phone she called from.
As a man drove in the 5400 block of 23rd SW early Saturday evening, someone shot out the rear window of his car with a BB gun. Then Thursday evening, in the 8400 block of 31st SW, a woman was sitting in her home when a BB or a pellet shattered the kitchen window.
In the 3800 block of 42nd SW, someone threw a rock though a car window and followed it up by tossing in a firecracker or explosive. Neighbors saw a flash and heard the boom, which caused over $1,000 damage.
Acting on a tip, officers went to a home in the 4800 block of 35th SW and found a Kent resident who was wanted on a no-bail federal warrant. They also found another man who was wanted on a King County misdemeanor warrant. A woman in the home admitted that she owned much of the drug paraphernalia that officers saw. Officers also found a large amount of computer equipment used to make fraudulent checks, in addition to stolen checks and counterfeit ID cards.
A man shoved a woman to the ground in the 8900 block of 14th Ave. S late Monday and grabbed her purse before he ran eastbound through nearby houses. Witnesses recognized the suspect as someone who frequently panhandles in front of a nearby store.
At 15th and Roxbury, a malfunctioning taillight led to the arrest of a man wanted on a $25,000 King County warrant for harassment. His problems grew greater when, in searching his vehicle, the officer found a glass crack pipe and cocaine residue.
Unknown persons stole a 25-HP outboard motor from a boat stored in the 7900 block of 32nd SW. And in the 9900 block of 31st SW, someone climbed into a boat and stole a fish finder, a GPS system, and other pieces of fishing equipment.
