I am concerned about the coyote problem in Schmitz Park and surrounding neighborhood. My beloved pet cat was killed by coyotes this past May and I have personally encountered them in my backyard just one week ago.

They are increasingly more aggressive and show less fear of humans. It is my hope that the City of Seattle along with the Department of Fish and Wildlife will remove the current population of coyotes from Schmitz Park.

If the lack of action by government agencies continues, it is only a matter of time before residents take matters into their own hands.
