(Editor's Note: Publisher Jerry Robinson is out again talking to people and snapping pictures. The Burien Classy Chassis Car show was among his stops last month.)
Meet Pat Sweeney
Pat Sweeney is a printer and married to Jeanne Sweeney, former editor of the West Seattle Herald and Highline Times. He found a pond east of Renton and couldn't resist swinging on a rope because the weather was so hot.
Meet Michael Bull
When I saw him walking out of the dentist's office, I was so puzzled by his attire I asked him if he was making a fashion statement. Like the jeans you see on many youngsters with the knees and rear ends hanging out of raggedy holes.
I used to feel sorry for them because their mothers didn't know how to sew on a patch like mine did.
He laughed and explained he had just come from his summer painting job. He had a big grin and a great set of teeth.
Mike is a Kennedy High grad from Burien. He is 21 and is going to Western in the fall.
Meet Paul Renne
He loves to show off his 54 Chevrolet Bel Air. He did all the mechanical restoration himself, but had a professional painter finish it. Not bad for a computer guy from Honeywell, IBM and ADT.
He lives in Burien and is a long-time member of the Burien Classy Chassis Car club, sponsor of the annual show.
Meet Bob Killam
And his little buddy.
I spotted them at the Burien Classy Chassis car show.
Bob is a diesel mechanic who loves classic cars and has a '29 Model A sedan, a '30 Model A Roadster and a '30 Highline Ford Pickup.
He lives in West Seattle and learned his trade at South Seattle Community College.
I asked Bob his bashful little friend's name and he said, "I don't know. He won't talk. Just dummies up."
