Pet ransom scam

If your pet is missing, don't be taken in by two male callers who claim to have the animal. Aggressive and violent, they phone the numbers on lost-pet flyers and threaten to harm the pet if money isn't handed over. One pet owner noted that the number the men called from was blocked, but the phone company says that they can release the number in response to a police request.
Two Arbor Heights men in their early twenties were arrested on Saturday after passing a counterfeit check at a Westwood Village store.The pair had been under surveillance since May as part of a fraud investigation. The suspects' car contained methamphetamine, 23 additional counterfeit checks and two counterfeit ID cards. Both men were booked into King County Jail for investigation of forgery and drug charges.
At Delridge and Webster, a Marysville man drove across five lanes of traffic and collided head on with another car. He ran from the vehicle but was tracked down by a K9 unit. He faces investigation of DUI, driving with a suspended license, hit and run, negligent driving, and vehicular assault.
An intoxicated man assaulted his wife in front of the children. The woman's 6-year-old was so concerned for mom's safety that he grabbed a butter knife to use against the man. The drunk dad then grabbed his infant and dropped it onto the hardwood floor. Mom was able to run and call police. Officers noted that the man was sweating, with watery and bloodshot eyes. After being placed in handcuffs he let loose with a kick that just missed an officer's groin. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault and for assault against the officer.
Around 6 p.m.Tuesday, in an apartment on SW Juneau, officers prevented a 22-year-old felon from fleeing out a rear door. The man was wanted on a no-bail escape warrant. He was also in violation of his parole for being around weapons. With the consent of the renters, officers searched the premises and found a loaded handgun and a rifle, which were temporarily confiscated until a records check could be completed. In the apartment, officers also found a 17-year-old runaway from North Seattle, who was released to her mother that night. The suspect was booked into King County Jail.
Friday afternoon, at 35th and Snoqualmie, a black male wearing a white do-rag approached a woman at a bus stop. He asked the time, and as she responded he exposed himself and said, "I'll pay you whatever you want." He followed as she walked away, but when she pulled out her cell phone, he ran across the street and climbed aboard a Metro coach.
Two men, both wanted on Department of Corrections felony escape warrants, were arrested at Delridge and Findlay on Tuesday after officers observed them conducting transactions in an area known for narcotics dealing. Both were booked into King County Jail on the warrants and for investigation of drug traffic loitering.
