A charge of first-degree manslaughter was filed last week against the stepbrother of 16-year-old Michael Miller, who was fatally shot on Sept. 21 in his Boulevard Park home.
Miller, 16, an Evergreen High School student, and Jordan Tautua-Jantoc, his stepbrother, were in the basement when a .380-caliber pistol Tautua-Jantoc was holding accidentally fired.
The bullet struck Miller in the collarbone and he died at the scene.
According to a King County Sheriff's Office report, Miller told Tautua-Jantoc to call 911, but he called his father instead and left the house.
Police officials say Tautua-Jantoc got the gun from a classmate.
He is being held in King County Jail. Bail was requested at $25,000. He will be arraigned in King County Superior Court on Oct. 3.
