A recently announced Ballard development is part of the transformation of Northwest Market Street from sleepy, hinterland high street into an urban canyon on par with Belltown.
Trammell Crow, an international real estate firm, recently announced its intention to build an eight story apartment complex on Market Street at 17th Avenue Northwest which will sit across from another eight story development now under construction.
Michael Derr, with Trammell Crow Residential, described the development during a recent Ballard District Council meeting, and said a second, six story building facing Northwest 54th Street was also part of a project that would create some 250 apartments and 10 live-work units, along with 17,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, a private courtyard and more than 300 underground parking stalls.
