Kennedy 58, Tyee 6
Kennedy soared to another big win Saturday, Sept. 30 -- taking a 58-0 lead on the Totems before they finally scored six in the fourth quarter.
Bobby Gentry scored first for the Lancers on a 5-yard run and the kick for the extra point failed, but Nate Williams ran for two points after Lonzell Hill struck on a 9-yard run.
Gentry then scored on another 5-yard run and Jacob Prato scored his first of four-straight kicks for the extra point. Williams scored four-straight touchdowns.
Williams trotted in on a 51-yard punt return and a 66-yard punt return before striking on a 23-yard run and a 50-yard run. Prato was successful after the first three touchdowns and Nolan Washington kicked successfully after the fourth.
Washington then kicked after a 17-yard touchdown run by D'Mario Carter.
Tyee brought the score to its final margin, when Caleb Tuani scored on an 18-yard run. The kick for the PAT failed.
JFK 56, Highline 14
The Lancers ran their Seamount League King Division record to 4-0 and their overall mark to 6-0 with Friday's win at Highline Stadium.
JFK took control with four touchdowns in the first quarter, all of which were followed by conversion kicks by Jacob Prato to put the score at 28-0.
Jesse Roe recovered a fumble in the end zone, then Everette Thompson scored on a 72-yard pass from Bobby Gentry. Nate Williams followed with touchdown runs of 12 and 1 yard. Tre Watson returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and the Lancers were off and running.
Hazen 28, Tyee 6
Tyee's touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard pass from Adam Common to Eddie Plata.
Fife 41, Foster 7
The Bulldogs took a lopsided loss Friday.
Lindbergh 27, Mt. Rainier 0
Lindbergh landed a shutout victory over the Rams Thursday.
Cross country
MR-JFK-Tyee
Three Highline district schools went up against Renton for racing Thursday.
In boys action, Renton defeated Mount Rainier, 16-45, and Tyee, 15-50, with Kennedy beating Tyee, 20-38. Mount Rainier topped Kennedy, 21-35.
Devan Powell finished fifth for Mount Rainier behind four Renton runners with his time of 17:37.
On the girls side, Mount Rainier was a 19-42 winner over Kennedy and Renton defeated the Rams, 18-43. Kennedy and Renton topped Tyee by forfeit. Cajsa Carlson took fourth for the Rams in 23.32.
Highline-Evergreen
The Highline boys lost, 21-39, to Hazen and Lindbergh, 19-42. Hazen and Lindbergh both won by forfeit over Evergreen. Erik DeSilva of Highline came in sixth in 16:49 followed by teammate Joshua Simmons in 16:56.
In the girls action, Hazen defeated Highline, 18-45, and Lindbergh dunked the Pirates, 20-40. Hazen and Lindbergh defeated Evergreen by forfeit.

Mt. Rainier 45, Highline 42
Jeff Nelson shot a 38 to win medalist honors for the Pirates last Tuesday, Oct. 3 but Mount Rainier still prevailed as a team. Adam Caudillo led the Rams with a 43.

Jeff Barth scored a 44 to top the Wolverines' scorers Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Stephanie Corey shot a 44 to lead the Rams Tuesday, Oct. 3 and Nicole Wammer turned in a 56 for the Pirates.

Rachel Fullington of the Wolverines came in with a score of 51 Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Patrick Betts scored the Eagles' first goal on a Daniel Kurbis assist and Justin Wasser was assisted by Kurbis to make it 2-0 at halftime. But Tacoma Baptist struck in the second half to come away with the tie.

Jane Connelly scored Highline's goal in the 48th minute off a Kayce Donatelli assist. Brianna Lemarr recorded the Pirates' shutout.

Ashley Engel earned the shutout for the Lancers last Tuesday, Oct. 3 and Katie Dunphy put them on the scoreboard in the 21st minute. Riley Bobenz was assisted by Dunphy in the 64th minute and Tracy Hughes was assisted by Jackie Thomas in the 71st.

Anne Bertucio and Jillian Schneeman shared the shutout for Mount Rainier. Jarin Storrs scored on a Sarah Martinez assist in the fifth minute and Sarah Ferrin struck in the 15th minute. Chanel Fuchigami scored on an Alex Hunter assist and Martinez on a Becky Harris assist. Fuchigami put in another Hunter assist in the 46th minute and Carly Borden scored on a Martinez assist in the 71st.

Stephanie Hoag had Highline's shutout Thursday. Kaitlyn Heinsohn scored on an Allanah Anderson assist in the first minute and the Pirates were gone from there.

Seattle Christian took a 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-22 loss to Vashon Monday, Oct. 2.
Lydia Huget scored seven kills and 25 digs and Annika Linman three aces, 21 assists and 12 digs. Kristen Yapp scored 10 kills, two aces and 13 digs. Danielle Schulz had 15 digs.

Mount Rainier scored a 25-9, 25-11, 25-14 victory over the Totems last Tuesday, Oct. 3.
Lorrin Rondeau had two aces, two digs and eight kills and Luu Pham one ace and one dig as Melissa Yapp had four aces, one dig, three kills and one block. Christy Lofus had four aces, four digs and one kill and Sara Kochel four aces, three digs and 14 assists.

The Lancers downed Lindbergh by a 25-13, 25-8, 25-7 score Tuesday, Oct. 3. Ashley Emiliko had nine kills, Rachel Moran 15 assists, and Stephanie Slatt six kills and five aces.

Evergreen 3, Lindbergh 2
Evergreen won, 25-18, 22-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-8 in a wild match Thursday.
Keilah Fanene had six kills, five blocks and 14 digs and Erene Togi eight kills, five aces and 19 digs. Tiera Lanier scored 14 kills and 12 blocks as Amy Gambill had 11 kills, five blocks, five aces and 10 digs. Stephanie Truong had 10 digs, Holly Johnson 62 assists and Tiare Faletogo 40 assists.

Mount Rainier was a 23-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-17 winner over the Pirates Thursday.
Lorrin Rondeau had nine digs and 10 kills and Luu Pham seven digs and five kills. Christy Lofus tallied 10 digs and Melissa Yapp two blocks and 15 kills. Sara Kochel had eight digs and 40 assists and Jessi Rendoni three aces and four digs. Chelsea Miller had 12 kills, Brittany Copenhaver four kills and Eva Ghirmai four digs.

Hazen 106, Highline 74
Highline won the 200 medley relay in 2:02.42 Thursday and also took the 200 free relay in 1:48.60. Cate came in first in the 100 breast in 1:12.74.
Kennedy 138, Evergreen 48
JFK took the 200 medley relay in 1:56.42 Thursday, then Nikki Vetterlein won the 200 free in 2:02.95 and Knight took the 200 IM in 3:01.31. Vetterlein won the 50 free in 25.89 after that and Courtney Strong scored 197.00 points for the Lancers in winning diving. Teammate Casey Hoffman took the 100 fly in 1:01.65 and Miller won the 100 free in 1:03.42. White won the 500 free for JFK in 6:28.28 and Kennedy took the 200 free relay in 2:10.50. Evergreen's Aaronson won the 100 back in 1:12.00 and Grotz took the 100 breast in 1:33.49. Kennedy took the 400 free relay in 4:33.06.
Lindbergh 127, Tyee 26
Lindbergh swept all of the first place finishes in Thursday's meet.
Mt. Rainier 138, Renton 35
The Rams took the opening 200 medley relay in 2:21.41 Thursday and had Haley Gansneder win the 200 free in 2:11.10. Molly Larson won the 200 IM in 2:21.84 and Maggie Caetano took the 50 free in 27.75. Kelly Kivtahan won diving with 250.55 points and Maria Rice won the 100 fly in 1:06.04. Gansneder won the 100 free in 57.09 and Larson took the 500 free in 5:47.86. Meagan Wilson won the 100 back in 1:08.54 and Letinich captured first in the 100 breast in 1:19.61. Mount Rainier won the 400 free relay in 4:34.85.
