Dead body; robber to prison
A dead body was found inside the trunk of a car parked on Northwest 100th Place near Carkeek Park on Dec. 3 and police have a suspect in custody.
According to the Seattle Police Incident Report, a woman looked inside her boyfriend's vehicle and found women's clothing and a large plastic bag.
She saw what looked like a body inside.
When the police arrived, the woman was waiting for them outside her duplex. She pointed to a silver Mercury in her driveway. The two officers opened the trunk and saw what appeared to be a body. The Seattle Police Homicide unit responded to the scene.
A suspect was taken into custody but released. Dan Donohoe, spokesperson for the King County Prosecutor said his office needs more time to bring charges.
Dale Allen Green will be spending the next 20 years in jail after being sentenced for a series of robberies against elderly and disabled victims. The sentence was handed down by King County Superior Court Judge Jim Rogers on Dec. 1.
One of his victims was Irma Andrews a 90 year old Green Lake resident when she was mugged and pushed to the ground on June 9, 2005.
Ballard resident Linda Smith, Andrews niece testified in court on her aunt's behalf. Andrews passed away on August 27 due to complications related to the original assault by Green. (see the Nov. 29 issue of the Ballard News-Tribune.)
Green will not be eligible for parole, but he can have his sentence reduced by ten-percent for good behavior, according to . Dan Donohoe, spokesperson for the King County Prosecutor's Office.
