Rotary Club of West Seattle is looking for applicants in financial need to apply for the 2007 Gambriell Scholarship.
This year the scholarship is worth up to $8,000 to help pay for post-secondary schooling toward a two or four year vocational or academic degree. The trust was established for those who might otherwise not be able to continue their education because of financial need and more than one recipient may share in the funds yearly.
Vern Gambriell donated the money to the West Seattle Rotary Service Foundation to set up an account that would be able to help those needing the most assistance. The yearly amount available will range from $6,000 to $8,000.
"West Seattle Rotary is delighted to be a part in helping the wishes of Mr. Gambriell come to fruition," said West Seattle Rotary President John Enger.
Applications will be available after March 5 at West Seattle High School, Sealth High School, Seattle Lutheran, Southwest Youth and Family Services, Middle College at South Seattle Community College, 1st Mutual Bank at California and Andover, or any Rotarian.
Applications must be received by April 16. For more information visit our web site at www.rotary5030.org/westseattle
